4 Kerry Teams In Action This Weekend.

It’s going to be a busy weekend for Kerry Ladies Football with 4 teams in action.

Munster U/14 Championship

Kerry u14s 2018

The Kerry U/14’s are the first team in action when they take on Tipperary in Bansha at 1.30 on Saturday. Kerry suffered a 5-03 to 1-8 loss to Cork in the first round but in reality there was very little in the contest and Cork’s ability to score goals at vital times proved to be the difference between the sides. It is a must win game for Kerry as a loss will see them relinquish their Munster title, while a win will see them qualify for the final once again. Manager John Doona has named a strong panel for the game, and Kerry will be confident of lowering the Premier Counties colours.

Kerry will line out as follows;

Munster U/16 Championship

Kerry U16s 2018

Kerry U/16’s welcome Cork to John Mitchels for their second game of the Munster campaign at 2oc on Saturday. Kerry go into the game on the back of a comprehensive 5-13 to 1-4 victory over Tipperary in the first round of the competition.  It will be Cork’s first day out in the competition and they will be determined to retain the Munster title that they won in 2017. The U/16 championship is being run on a round robin league basis and a win for the Kingdom would see them parachute strainght into the final. It won’t be easy however and this battle could go right down to the final whistle.

1. Ciara Butler (Castlegregory)

Lidl National Football League Round 7

Kerry ladies v Mayo 18

The stakes couldn’t be much higher as Kerry host Westmeath in Strand Road Tralee. Kerry’s 3 point deduction during the week leaves them pointless so it’s winner takes all on Sunday.If there’s a loser on the day, that team will be relegated and playing Division 2 football next year.Westmeath suffered a big defeat to Donegal in round 3, and lost out by ten points against Cork, but they’ve given a decent account of themselves in the matches with Mayo, Dublin and Monaghan.Kerry’s last outing saw them concede 6-11 against Donegal, and confidence levels are bound to be low. Kerry have the experience and quality to pull this out of the bag however, so a vocal home support could go a long way towards ensuring victory.

Manager Graham Shine has named the following side for the game;

1 Laura Fitzgerald  Na Gaeil
2 Laoise Coughlan Rathmore
3 Aislinn Desmond Rathmore
4 Aisling O’Connell Scartaglen

Munster Minor Championship

Kerry minor ladies v Tipperary 2018

Kerry will travel to Cloughduv on Bank Holiday Monday to take on Cork in Round 3 of the Munster Championship with a 2oc throw in. Both Kerry and Cork had good victories over Tipperary in the earlier rounds and whichever side wins will automatically qualify for the Munster final.  The loser of the contest will have to face Tipperary once more in a semi final.
