It’s going to be a big weekend for 4 Kerry school girls as  they have been selected on the Munster PP Interprovincial team for the Post Primary All Ireland Blitz which will take place in Kinnegad on  Saturday the 21st of January. Munster will be hoping to retain the title that they won in style last year.

Central to the Munster gameplan will be Emma Dineen of St Brigid’s Killarney who was part of the winning Munster team last year. Emma will be joined by her St Brigid’s schoolmate Sarah Leahy with Scoil Phobail Sliabh Luachra’s Aoife O’Callaghan certain to play a key role. The mercurial Fiadhna Tangney of ISK is the 4th Kerry girl to be honoured by the Munster selectors. Cork under age players Ava Looney and Katie Horgan have also been selected- both girls go to school in Scoil Phobail Sliabh Luachra Rathmore! Best of luck to all involved!

This was a very exciting game and was very exciting all the way through.

Kate Maher , Ciara O’Brien, Fodhla Houlihan and Cora Joy all found the net for Killorglin in the first half , Fodhla Houlihan struck again early in the second half after a good save from Claire Fealey in the ISK goal. Lucy Clifford, Grace Cahillane, Kayleigh Moynihan and  Ailbhe Clifford were playing very well in the backs while Kate Maher and the outstanding Fiadhna Tangney were showing up very well in the forwards. A goal scored by Roisin Griffin for the ISK put a cushion between the teams with only minutes left on the clock.
