Division 3
Fossa 3-11 Legion 3-7
A powerful first half display saw Fossa hang on for the win over a good Legion side this morning in Div 3 of the County League. Fossa’s early scores coming from Erica Mcglynn 2-5, Anna Clifford 1-1 Shelly Clifford 0-1 and Ciara Griffin 0-2. Legion created a number of opportunities inside the opening half but Fossa defence of Orla Moynihan, Kate Murphy and Maud Kelly were in top form. Legion’s two points coming from Elizabeth Mohan and Isabelle Corridan. Half time Score Fossa 3-10 Legion 0-2.
On resumption wayward shooting proved costly for Fossa which saw Legion deplete Fossa’s lead. Legion getting three goals, 2 from Denise Lyne and 1 from Juliet Kelly saw them close the gap. Final score Fossa 3-11 Legion 3-7. Mairéad O Donoghue, Denise Lyne, Elizabeth Mohan, Sarah Leahy and Kia Doona played well for Legion. Anna O Reilly, Erica Mcglynn, Kate Murphy, Maud Kelly and Orla Moynihan played well for Fossa.
Currow 1-9 John Mitchels 0-9
Munster rugby captain Siobhan Fleming had an excellent game for Currow but she had excellent backup from Louise Nelligan McGuire, Kerrie McCarthy, Joyce O’Connor and Ciara Fitzgerald.
Division 1
Castleisland Desmonds 0-8 Rathmore 8-18
Rathmore were too strong for a depleted Desmonds side and certainly put them to the sword in this encounter. Rathmore had excellent performances in all sectors of the field but the Murphy twins, Aoife Ryan, Katie Buckley and Aislinn Desmond stood out. Lorraine Scanlon and Andrea Murphy never stopped trying for Desmonds.
Southern Gaels 2-8 Beaufort 4-16
This was an excellent win for Beaufort away to Southern Gaels and Sarah Houlihan ,Tara Breen and Amy Foley produced excellent performances. Deirdre Corridan and goalkeeper Elaine O’Sullivan were best for Southern Gaels.
Division 2
Corca Dhuibhne 7-9 Austin Stacks 4-3
Spa 0-15 Scartaglin 3-7
Scartaglin left Killarney with the points after a 1 point victory over Spa in a hugely entertaining match. Best for the Scartaglin outfit were Amy Reidy and Denise Dunlea.
Division 4
Ballymac 2-4 Glenflesk 1-12
Glenflesk were too strong for a spirited Ballymac outfit with Emma Dineen putting in a player of the match performance. Jillian Courtney and Mairead Kelliher also had excellent games for the winners. For Ballymac Niamh Rahilly, Eve Creedon, Claire Kenny, Aisling O’Connell and Robyn White were best
