Kerry LGFA would like to extend our condolences to the family of Mary McLoughlin of Castleisland who has passed away following an illness borne bravely over the last few years.
Mary served as Kerry LGFA PRO in 2008 and 2009 and was an excellent officer on the board. Fellow officers at the time recall her as being a ‘gas ticket who always put everyone in great humour”. This description really summed up Mary as she always saw the fun in every situation and went about her role with a smile on her face.
Mary was very proud of her 3 children, Danielle, Eamon and Shane. Danielle represented Kerry at every level in ladies football ,and Eamon is an accomplished soccer player with Castleisland. Her youngest child Shane achieved a childhood dream by getting a professional contract with English Championship side Ipswich Town and over the course of her visits to the Suffolk based club with her husband Eamon, Mary built up a great relationship with the sides manager Mick McCarthy.
