Gaelic Games Family Joins Forces to Train New Coach Developers

Key to implementation of the recently launched Gaelic Games Player pathway is the provision of quality coaching and player development inputs appropriate to their age and stage on the pathway.

The three Associations continue to work together to align our supports and services especially in the area of coach education where we are collaborating on the developing a new coaching pathway – one that builds on recent development of the first common coach education course – the Introduction to Coaching Gaelic Games which is for all entry coaches male and female.

Our coach education programmes are delivered by qualified coach developers who ensure all participants attending our education courses/workshops/webinars have a positive experience. It is these positive experiences that assist with increased participation levels and enhance the grassroots of players and coaches.

Best practice promotes a professional image and demands that the coach developers demonstrate the highest levels of integrity and competence. As a result, the Gaelic Games family are giving experienced sports coaches an opportunity to be involved in the development and support of coaches within Gaelic Games.
