Clounmacon/Moyvane 3-11 Fossa 2-11 (Clounmacon/Moyvane report)
What an entertaining game we had in Fossa on Sunday morning. The Clounmacon girls pulled off a massive comeback against all the odds as they trailed by 9pts with 15mins left on the clock. The never say die attitude in this bunch of players is inspiring. We played against the wind in the 1st half and did well to go in trailing by only 3pts at half time. Score C’macon 1-4 Fossa 1-7. Fossa came out all guns blazing and pulled away into what seemed an unassailable lead midway through the 2nd half but our players dug deep and piled on the pressure and pinned Fossa inside their own 45 winning kickout after kickout and turning possession into scores to run out winners by 2pts at the end. Every player gave their all and showed it is never over till it’s over.. All at the club would like to send our best wishes to Jenny McNicholas who received a serious injury during the 1st half. Hopefully she will be back on the field of play before the year is out.

(Fossa Report)
A tougher test awaited Fossa in Rd 3 of the Rhyno Quality Feeds Div 4 Senior County Leagues when Clounmacon/Moyvane descended on Fossa. Fossa launched the first attack registering 2 points. Fresh from their exploits with the Kerry U16 on Saturday Maud Kelly and Anna Clifford played a slick passing game which in turn saw Erica Mcglynn goaling for Fossa. Aoife o Connor, Amy Moriarty and Katie Talbot were commanding the half back line. Both sides were playing in a wholehearted manner and every ball was stoutly contested by our full back line of Grace Cahillane. Kate Murphy and Sara Sheehan. Ciara Griffin was outstanding between the posts for Fossa and saved numerous CM goal attempts. Anna O Reilly her usual athletic self covered every inch of the pitch. Amanda Ni Dhomhnaill kicked 0-3 with Rebecca Horgan adding 1-1 for CM in the first half. Fossa’s first half scorers Erica Mcglynn 1-5 Julie Cronin 0-1 Anna Clifford 0-1. Shortly before the break we lost Sara Sheehan to injury who was replaced by Orla Moynihan. Anna Clifford was replaced by Amy Murphy. Jenny Mcnicholas (CM) taking a nasty knock which required the use of an ambulance. Half time Fossa 1-7 to cm 1-4. On resumption Fossa looked to be in the driving seat Shelly Clifford scored a point. Erica Mcglynn and Julie Cronin added a point each. Jodie Sheehan with an absolute peach of a goal putting Fossa 9 up. However CM seemed to gain initiative in the final 15 minutes as the action ebbed and flowed from end to end. Fossa’s Ciara Griffin and defenses were working diligently to counteract waves of attack from CM. Ciara Haugh goaling for CM. Laura Sheehy, Louise Horgan a point each. Rebecca Horgan proving to be the thorn in Fossa’s side added 1-3, Amanda Ni Domhnaill with 2 points. Fossa lost this one by 2 point, but can be very proud of their footballing display on the day. Final score Fossa 2-12 Clounmacon/Moyvane 3-11.
We wish Jenny Mcnicholas a speedy recovery.

Finuge/St Senans 7-9 Castleisland Desmonds 4-6 (Desmonds report)
The first game of the year saw Desmonds travel to Finuge on Sunday. Finuge/St Senans started the livelier team and were 2 goals and 2 points clear within 15 mins but the Castleisland girls found their feet at this stage and dominated the next 15 mins to bring the score level at half time. The home side scored a very early goal, and looked to be cruising to an unassailable lead, but again Desmonds fought back with 2 quick goals, and but for a late flurry from the home team, it would have been a much closer scorel ine. Praise goes to Desmonds captin. Paris,McCarthy for her commanding display, Shauna Kissane with a solid performance in an unfamiliar role, and numerous debuts for some of our u12 girls.
