Kerry Through to TG4 All Ireland Semi-final
Saturday, 14 August 2010

TG4 All Ireland Senior Ladies Quarter Final - Banagher, Co Offaly, Sat, Aug 14th at 4.15 pm.

Kerry         2-9

Galway     1-11

William O'Sullivan's Kerry senior team booked their passage into the TG4 All Ireland Ladies Senior Football semi-final with a nail biting victory over Galway in Banagher on Saturday evening. Kerry led by 0-8 to 0-3 at the interval and went further ahead early in the second half when Mags O'Dionoghue converted from the penalty spot. This turned out to be the first of four penalties awarded in the game. Kerry converted twice from the spot but Galway's Una Carroll missed narrowly midway through the second half. This missed proved crucial to the outcome of the game. A late penalty award was converted by Galway however but Kerry clung on to a narrow one point win. In light of our relegation from the Division One of the League  this is an extraordinary achievement by the current side and their management team. William O'Sullivan, Connie O'Connor and Seamus Moriarty came in half way through the season and they deserve great credit for the turnaround in Kerry's fortunes. Kerry can now look forward to the semi-final draw and we will have news of the draw shortly. For now well done to everyone involved in what what a truly momentous day in the development of Ladies football in the county.
