Congratulations to Pobal Scoil Chorcha Dhuibhne who captured the Munster Junior B Post Primary title at the Dr Crokes pitch on Friday. Munster Post Primary Junior B (u 16 ½) Ladies Colleges Final Pobal Scoil Chorcha Dhuibhne 3-12 St Mary’s Macroom 3-4 The Munster Junior B Colleges final was played at the Dr Crokes pitch on Friday, March 5th and the good news from a Kerry perspective is that the West Kerry girls from the Dingle based College, Pobal Scoil Chorcha Dhuibhne emerged triumphant. Led superbly by Player of the Match and inter county under age star Ciara Murphy, the Dingle girls roared into a 2-4 to 0-0 lead after ten minutes. St Mary’s force their way back into the tie and trailed at the interval by 2-7 to 1-3. A spirited second half, in front of a sizeable attendance, saw the Kerry girls power to an eight point victory. Corca Dhuibhne had star players throughout the pitch, Ciara Murphy scored two points from midfield and her midfield partner Niamh De Hora contributed 1-2. Aoife Geaney was the game’s top scorer with a personal tally of seven points while Neasa Gromail scored two goals. The management duo of Mary Jo Bowler and Denis Kelliher will now turn their attention to the All Ireland series. They meet the Ulster champions in a month’s time on April 10th in the All Ireland Junior B semi-final. The Kerry Ladies Board would like to congratulate everyone involved in this wonderful provincial triumph and we wish Corca Dhuibhne every success in their quest for All Ireland glory. |
